Frank Moffett Plays
On Front Royal Club
Frank Moffett of Washington, Va. is a member of the Front Royal American Legion baseball team after an invitation from that group to participate in the sport with the Giles B. Cook Post 53. In a game last Monday night with Waynesboro, the Front Royal teamwonll-2. Jack Lee went seven innings and was credited with the win. He was relieved by Moffett who is a left hand pitcher. On Wednesday the Front Royal team defeated Staunton 10-4 behind the pitching of Yates Hall. When the Legion met Augusta County at Waynesboro Friday night, the good pitching of lefthander Frank Moffett and good all-around defensive play brought a 3-1 victory for the Front Royal team. Frank is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr. and was a June graduate of Rappahannock County High School, where he was active in sports.
Shelia Dodson Sustains Severe Foot Injury
Miss Shelia Dodson of Washington, Va. sustained a severe foot injury Thursday while visiting in Front Royal. She cut the top of her foot, almost severing the tendons to her toes. She underwent surgery in Warren Memorial Hospital Thursday and her foot and leg were sput in a cast. Shelia has returned home and is recuperating satisfactorily.
Amisaville M. Y. F. Electa Officeri
The Youth Fellowship of Amis8ville Methodist Church recently elected new officers for the coming year. They are: president, Ann Holmes; vice president, Brenda Hackley; secretary, Nancy Corder, treasurer, Janet Hackley; reporter, Peggy Hitt. The M.Y.F. was entertained Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Clatterbuck.
