For the first time in Rappahannock history a truly fine exhibition of American Indian art will be shown at the library on July 4th. The chairman, Wm. M. Carrigan, has arranged to have Solomon McCombs, noted Creek Indian painter, bring several contemporary Indian works from the exhibitions at the State Department and the Statler Hotel for all day showing, July Fourth at the county library.
Mr. McCombs, who has traveled extensively in the Middle East with his art, explaining American Indian ari and culture under the State Department’s exchange program, will himself be presen in full tribal costume to tel us about the advances anc meaning of Indian art.
