Flowering Almonds, were planted on the school grounds in her honor. Mrs. John Peck and Mrs. H. B. Peck entertained Miss
Almond and the Floris faculty at dinner on June 8 at the H. B. Peck residence. Other guests Included Mrs. Ernest Gibson, principal; Miss Elizabeth Cobb, Mrs. Willis Burton Miss Janet Tavener, Mrs. Lewis Bradley and Miss Evelyn Norment. Gifts were presented the guest of honor. Miss Almond was also entes tained for dinner by Mrs. Lewis Bradley at which time about 25 guests were present and the honoree was presented a corsage of white rosebuds. She was also guest of honor at a dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Steve Haines of Chantilly and the Floris faculty entertained her at the Lazy Susan where she was presented gifts. Mrs. Ernest Gibson, Miss Evelyn Norment and Mrs. Stanley Thornberry entertained Miss Almond at Dulles Intel* national Airport restaurant.
Miss Almond says she plans to catch up on her visiting and flower gardening since she has retired, but will keep in touch with school through substitute work here if needed.
