Ned Johnson was the first Rappahannock farmer to get samples of his 1964 hay crop for forage analysis. Three samples were^submitted. The day he got our hay gamp, ling tool two farmers called to borrow it. Funny how demand wanes and then grows all of a sudden. Guess it was the cold weather which influenced think ing of winter feed supplies.
Hey you Heifer Owners - don't let us down! The Oct. Livestock Health Bulletin shows you are doing pretty good this year in vaccinating heifers against Brucellosis (Bang's disease) B-U-T then, •pretty - good ain't good enough." September vaccinations put us in 2nd place. We've gotta be 1st. This brought us to 52.8% of a job done. "Ain’t" good enough - only 100% will satisfy me. Get line-up with you vet and lets get all our heifers 4-8 months of age vaccinated. Now that Dr. Bill Wake is back, this shouldn't present the problem it has at times. Dr. Wake’s number is 9373708. Might be better to call at night or soon in the morning. Bill is still busying himself shining up the Wake’s new home grounds you know.
