Two Truck
Accidents Reported
Last Wednesday's slippery spring snow accounted for one traffic incident in Rappahannock County. A 1963 GMC tractor-trailer slid off the highway on Route 211a mile and a half east of Washington about noon, according to Trooper R. M. Dodson. The truck slid down :the ditch after leaving the highway before coming to rest against the bank.
Operator of the rig was Lester Brenner of Brooklyn, N. Y. who received a cut on his head. The outfit was owned by B. & W. Transfer Co. New Jersey and was loaded with | frozen chicken backs enroute from New Market to a dog food cannery in Boston.
The tractor-trailer was left overnight In the ditch. Its cargo was transferred to another trailer next day. C. K. F.stes wrecker from Sperryville with the aid of Russell Bros, wrecker from Flint Hill removed the rig Thursday.
On Route 522 at Huntly, Thursday, March 18 at 3;30 p.m. a two-vehicle collision occurred. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, Thomas Edward Lee of Washington, operating a 1941 Ford truck attempted to make a left turn as a 75 Imperial driven by Bernard Braverman of Monroeville, Pa. was passing the truck. The Imperial was forced off the road and sandwiched between the truck and a cinderblock wall in front of the Aubrey North property.
There were no injuries to occupants of either vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to the Imperial; $100 to the truck; and $150 to the wall.
