Members of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club met after school on March 24th at Jessamine Hill Farm, Washington, Va. The County 4-H Demonstration Contests will be held this Saturday morning, March 27th, from 9 to 12 at the Rappahannock High School. Four-H Demonstration Contest awards will be given this year in the Horse and Pony project for the first time along with other awards. Amissville 4-H’ers had planned a cake walk at the firehall tomorrow night, but understand this has been postponed because of the First Aid Class. Thanks! One thanks to all the 4-H’ers who made their 4-H Supper a success last Saturday night. The leaders and parents who gave guidance and assistance are appreciated. More than forty 4H members and twenty parents and leaders helped plan, advertise, prepare, and serve the nearly three hundred fine steak suppers. 4-H will be enhanced by §11 your cooperative efforts. ‘ Sandra Foster, County 4-H Council President, has appointed the following 4-H committees which will meet with me in the near future; County 4-H budget; Linda Pullen, Earl Yancy, Donald Williams, and Carty Moffett, chairman. 4-H Tour; Charlotte Foster, Donnie Deal, Gloria Durden, and Tommy Williams, chairman.

Notes from around the county; Martha Lou O’Bannon reported her 4-H Sears sow had 14 pigs. C. G. Thornhill, Jr. reported his sow had 9 pigs. The state 4-H club office has requested some pictures of our 4-H activities for the State 4-H Newspaper. We hope the articles will be published in the May issue.
