B.v Mrs. Alice Dorsey
The Brotherhood of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church entertained the Women’s Missionary Society, the Young Women’s Auxiliary, the Girl’s Auxiliary and the Royal Ambassadors of the church at a dinner Saturday night at the Holly House.
The guest of honor was Gerald G. Moore of the Culpeper Baptist Church. Mr. Moore showed slides of his trip to the west coast last summer, when he attended the Layman’s Crusade at San Francisco. It was held for one week and was known as the West Coast Layman’s Crusade, Mr. Moore worked with a group of 975 Baptist Laymen. The Virginia group was assigned to work in Sacramento and Sacramento County. They visited in homes, doingevange. listic work there and in the churches. About thirty-one attended the dinner and everyone enjoyed the slides and Mr. Moore’s talk. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lddie Johnson and sons arriving Friday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Donald G. Snyder, two sons and daughter, of Brunswick, Ga. They were enroute to Newport, R. 1. where Mr. Snyder has been transferred by the Navy. They left Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sparks and family whose home was burned last Monday have moved across the road to the James L. Day house. J. B. Burke who owns the burned house is making repairs and the Sparks will return when ' it is completed.
