Now is the time for the Virginia motor vehicle owner to purchase his 1965 license plates, commissioner of Motor Vehicles, C. H. Lamb, stated today.
We are well over the opening rush of applicants for new license plates, explained Lamb, and almost 500,000 Virginia owners have completed their purchases of new tags. We expect that the usual last min■ u’te rush will occur when approximately 750,000 car owners apply for their tags before tne deadline for displaying 196 1 license plates, midnight, April
It is in the next week or two that we will be able to process license applications faster than at any other time during the renewal period, and I sug gest that the best way to avoid inconvenience or delay is to apply now while busrnestr-^B below the expected peak. All
of our application cards have been mailed, and if an individual has not received his application by now he should immediately get in touch with DMV, 2220 West Broad Streep Richmond, Va. In reguesting a license application, the car owner should include vehicle identification as well as; his address if this was chang-! ed during the past year.
DMV suggests car owners identify their vehicle by listing the 1964 license number, the make of car, the identification number as shown on the registration card, and the title number which appears directly below the name of the make of car.
