The Rev. Arnold Sorrells is recuperating at his home following throat surgery last week at the Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal. Mr. and Mrs. John S. Brown ing were week-end guests of Mrs. Browning’s brother-inlaw and sister Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Palmore in Richmond. On Saturday night they also visited another sister Mrs. T. W. Derieux and family at Highland Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Charlie Smith and Galley Smith were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Comer Smith and family at North Garden. Marvin R. Bradford, III returned to V.P.I. on Monday after spending last week with his parents. Mrs. w. J. Kendrick, Jr. of Roanoke was the guest two nights last week of her sisterin-law Mrs. Frank W. Spalding and Mr. Spalding.
The Missionary Society of Flint Hill Methodist Church met Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Paul Miller. She conducted a program called “Portrait of Christ". Others present were Mrs. E. M. Eastham, Mrs. Lock Burford, Mrs. James Grimmer, Mrs. Emory Russell, Mrs. Ida Trump, Mrs. Wiley Gentry, and Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr.
