A feature of the new compli ance program that will appeal to many farmers is that ASCS relies entirely on a farmer’s certified report of his crop acreage. This is not unlike the manner in which taxpayers declare their earnings for income tax purposes. Just as the average taxpayer reports his earnings and files his tax report, so will a producer participating in the 1965 wheat or feed grain program report his planted and diverted acreages under these programs. To help them make their acreage determinations, ASCS will furnish each producer an aerial photo-copy of his farm On this photo-copy the perimeter of each field is outlined and the acregae therein is indicated. These acreages will be considered by ASCS to be official if the boundaries of fields are not changed.
A clerk thoroughly familiar with this operation will be available at the ASCS Counter to assist the farmer In interpreting the photograph and making his compliance re port. Reporting his crop acreage will enable a farmer to plan and proceed with his opera tions in a more efficient and timely manner.
