Memberships Rising
Charter membership in Rappahannock's Historical Society is still rising, with now over 130 enrolled including junior members. The committee on Old Houses and the Cemetery com mittee are planning meetings soon. It is necessary for all committees to meet, or at least select, their chairman i before the May 3rd meeting. It •‘is hoped that the cemetery group will have a field trip to list and locate cemeteries on a Saturday before the May meeting. Anyone, even those not members of the society, may go on this field study. Charter membership cards have been designed and sent to the printer and will be mailed to members in the near future. As was voted at the last meeting, charter membership for the Historical Society has been extended to July 4th. The fee is $3.00 for individuals; $5.00 for family; and $1.00 for juniors. These may be mailed to Robert L. Brown, Treasurer, Washington, Va. The Society is c*bmmitted to publish an annual report on the historical findings during the year. Everyone who has information and/or materials which you think valuable for the records of early history of this county please write to Rappahannock County Historical Society, Washington, Va. and let them know what you have. Information on any known Indian or early American artifacts that were from this county would be most welcome.
