Plan Art Session
The Arts and Crafts Project met at Cab-Inn April 14 at 10 a. m. with 9 ladies present. Work was continued on several knitting and embroidery articles. Miss Doris Daugherty presided in the absence of Mrs. Tom Pillar, Chairman. Plans were completed for the next two scheduled activities of the group. April 27 is the date set for a day of sketching at the summer cottage of the L. J. Kilby family, just east of Sperryville. Entrance to this cottage is just opposite the Walnut Lodge Service Station and you follow the farm road to the cottage. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join the group and no previous experience in sketching is re. quired. Bring your own lunch. Coffee will be served by the committee. Experienced artists who have their own supplies are urged to bring them. But if you have none, bring 150 to cover cost of paper, paints, charcoal and chalk. Listed below are some other articles you may find useful; 1. Piece of stiff cardboard or writing board to bear on. 2. Hair clips or clothes pins to clip paper to the board. 3. Muffin tins, if you plan to use water paint. 4. Large apron or smock and a wiping rag. The meeting for May 11 will be at Cab-Inn and the activity will be piecing for a quilt. Everyone who is interested should select a simple pattern and bring supplies to the meeting which will start at 10 a. m. All activities of the Arts and Crafts Project are open to everyone and there is no charge, except occasionally for supplies.
