Tornado Victim
Dr. Percy H. Warren, Dean of Madison College, was one of the victims of the tornadoes which swept through areas of the Midwest on Sunday. He and his mother-in-law Mrs. James Moran were killed when ,a tornado ripped through the upper part of the home where they were visiting. Mrs. Warren also received injuries. They were staying with the Warren’s son-in-law and daughter the Rev. and Mrs. William H. Jones.
Dr. Warren Was widely known in Virginia educational circles. He received his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and his master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University. He served as head of the biology department and dean of the summer session before becoming dean of the college. He was 59. Dean Warren had many friends in the area, students and graduates of Madison College, and others.
Rev. Farrar To Conduct Revival Service*
The Rev. John Farrar of Culpeper who will conduct the Revival Services at the Flint j Hill and Washington Baptist I Churches April 25 through 30 is a native of North Carolina, a graduate of Mars Hill and Wake Forest Colleges. He has a Master of Theology degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He Is married to the former Miss Julia Hoover of North Carolina. They have two children, Alicia, 15 and Frederick, 13. Prior to coming to Culpeper he was pastor of Boiling Springs Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, N. C. He is at Ipresent in his 8th year at Culpeper Baptist Church. Services will te held at 7;30 ip. m.
