The first traffic fatality of 1965 in Rappahannock County highways occurred over the week-end and a second Rappahannock man was fatally injured in a single car crash in Culpeper County. John Franklin Huff, 58, of Washington died in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville at 8;40 a.m. Satur day morning from injuries sustained in a two-vehide collision Friday morning. The accident occurred on Route 522-211 at 9:55 am. 3 1/2 miles south of Washington. Huff, operating a 54 Chevrolet pick up, pulled onto the highway from Ivy Hill Service Station and was struck by a 63 Corvair driven by Gerald Edward Hans of Buffalo, N. X according to Trooper Paul P7 Dicks. Huff was thrown from the truck and received severe head injuries. He was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by the Rappahannock Rescue Squad, and was transferred to the University of Virginia Hospital, where he died Saturday April 10. Membership Meeting
The Annual Membership Meeting of the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia will beheld on Thursday, April 22, 1965, at the Hy-Wy Restaurant in Front Royal, Va. The dinner meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. (EST) and the regular business will start at 7:30. This will be the occasion for the election of the Board of Directors and the officers.
Keynote speaker will be Dr. John L. Cuerrant, newly elect ed president of the Virginia Thoracic Society, of Charlottesville, Va.
