John W. Pullen, whose wife, Dorothy, lives in Sperryville, was promoted to staff sergeant Jan. 15 in Vietnam, where he is serving with the 87th Engineer Battalion. SergCarit Pullen, 27, a supply sergeant in Headquarters Company of the battalion, entered the Army in 1958 and arrived overseas in September 1965. The sergeant was graduated from Rappahannock County High School, Washington, in 1957. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Pullen, live on Route 1, Box 52, Washington.
