Both men and women will be eligible to study at the school on a one-acre tract cast of this city near the North Carolina border. Says Ward, who shod his first horse at the age of 12 under the tutelage of his father 'It's a fact there are more horses in the country than ever before and less farriers.
'And when a horse noeds a pair of shoes, he can’t wait." Ward, a personable, folksy man who plays entertaining bluegrass guitar, is one of the best-known horseshoers in the Southeast. He services customers in several states traveling in a van that is a blacksmith shop on wheels. Students at Ward’s school are to be ready after the course to set up their own blacksmith shops. Tuition will cover room and board and occasional trips to»- horse shows. Queries have come from peo pie in seven states and Canada, Ward says.

James P. Boyle, District Director of Internal Revenue for the State of Virginia today cautioned taxpayers who need professional help in filing Federal tax returns to select only qualified, reputable advisors. The District Director said that the overwhelming majority of tax advisors are competent and honest but unfortu nately there are some shady characters engaged in the bust ness of preparing tax returns. He offered the following suggestions for this income tax filing period:
