Scholarship Awards
The Hopewell, Virginia District of the Continental Woodlands Division, Continental Can Company, Inc., has announced its scholarship program for 1966. Two scholarships for $1,000.00 per year for four years of study in the field of professional fores* ry will be awarded by The Hopewell Woodlands District this yeajf. One scholarship will be awarded to a North Carolina student and one to a Virginia student. This is the thirteenth consecutive year that the company has offered similar scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors in Virginia North Carolina, Georgia, Floridja, South Carolina and Louisiana. To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must be a resident of Virginia or North Carolina, in a county in which Continental Can has land ownership or procures pulpwood, or who is a resident of a city which is geography cally located within the same counties. The award winner this year may attend The School of Forestry, North Carolina State at Raleigh, North Caro lina, Virginia Polytechnic In stitute at Blacksburg, Virginia or West Virginia University at Morgantown, West Virginia. High school seniors who will graduate this spring and are interested in applying for this scholarship, should contact their principals or guidance counselors for application forms and other details.
