Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Brand of Arlington announce the engagement of their daughter, Peggy Carol, to PFC Joseph E. Cloud, son of Mrs. Charlie Cloud and the late Mr. Cloud of Sperryville. Miss Brand is a 1965 graduate of Wakefield High School in Arlington and is currently employed by Acacia Mutual Life Insurance Company in Washington, D. C. PFC Cloud is serving with the United States Army in Korea and will be returning to the States in September 1966. No date has been set for the wedding.

Arlington A. Farms*._ Berdi Farmer of and James Farmer of North Carolina to Wesley R. Thornton of Slate Mills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald W. H. Thornton of North Billerica, Mass, took place on December 17, 1965 at 8:30 p.m. in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Arlington.
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Willard Pierce. The bride wore a white suit and carried white orchids. Miss Fran Furtow of Fairfax was bridesmaid and only attendant. Gerald T. Fairfax of Buckhall was best man. The bride and groom are temporarily living in Arlington and spending week-ends at their home near Slate Mills. Mr. Thornton is employed by the Fairfax Highway Department.
