The awards, which were presented to the employees, were in the form of gold, silver and white certificates and are signed by Judson Large, President of the company. The t presentation of these awards is made according to the num- - her of accident free years. The Gold Certificate represents ten or more accident free years, worked by an employee; Silver Certificates represent five to nine years; and White Certificates, less than five years. Mr. Lewis stated that employees’ safety is the first consideration in adopting construction, maintenance and removal methods and establishing specifications for equipment and tools and materials. He further states that the company’s Training and Safety School has proven beneficial to the employees and that it is the employee’s constant awareness of safety practices which prevents the accident. Mr. Lewis presented the Gold Certificate to J. B. Comp ton, District Manager, the most outstanding company employee who received this award for 31 years without an accident, also Gilbert R. Frazier was awarded a gold certificate for 26 years. He mentioned that jointly these two company employees had accumulated over a half century of safety years. Others issued Gold Certificates were: Phyllis K. Brady, Ruth E. Campbell, Cletus Frazier^ Harlon A. Harper, Larry R. Hepner, Reba R. Higgs, Patrick M. Lewis, George W. Paggans, Catherine A. Showers and Warren C. Watson, Jr. Silver Certificates: Albert D. Barnes Stewart E. Brown, Lynwooa Frazier, Franklin Snyder, and William E. Stephenson. White Certificates: Charles D. Bailey, Nancy G. Chapman, Ira G. Fristoe, Judith H. Jennings, Joseph W. Miller, Robert W. Richardson, Robert R. Wayland, Jr., and Gail R. Wimer.
