Over fifty young ladies ranging ages from five to their late teens competed in the Jaycees Beauty Pageant held Friday evening at the local high school. Competition was divided into four groups, Little Miss Universe of Rappahannock, Miss Junior Jaycee, Miss Jaycee and Miss Universe of Rappahannock. First, second and third place winners were selected in each group, and token gifts were awarded each of the three. Miss Millie Dodson of Washington won the title of Miss Universe of Rappahannock and is entitled to compete in the state contest which will be held in Roanoke in the near future. Winner on the state level will compete in the Miss Universe contest. Miss Dodson was presented a banner and bouquet of red carnations in addition to a gift. Netus (Sonny) Brown acted as emcee for the program and Jaycee president, Garfield Burke, presented awards to winning contestants. Background music was played by T. J. Pillar at the piano during the judging and The Rogues, a teen combo, provided musical entertainment on the program. Winning contestants were: Little Miss Universe, ages 5;
Bake Sale Scheduled
The Washington Methodist Church will hold a Bake Sale, Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Church.

In view of the Washington Methodist Church holding a Bake Sale on Saturday, the Washington Elementary School P.T.A. will reschedule their Sale to be held Friday, April 15, at the Washington Baptist Church Educational Building, starting at 10 a.m.
