I Luray, Va. . .Deep in the heart of Virginia’s Luray Caverns there is a famous Wishing Well. To the people of Luray, it’s the “Sacred River", but to tourists from all over the world it's a magical place to toss their coins -- and wish. Every several years the Well is drained. . .the coins collected, cleaned and bagged. .. and given to a deserving charitable organization. This year the 840,722 coins collected over a five-year period are being given to the National Society for Crippled Children and Adults.
