The following quote is from a recent issue of Polaris, the Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point Fong Island school paper; “One of our graduates deserving special recognition is Captain c. G. Reid, class of 1947, who was recently made permanent Master of MooreMcCormack’s luxury liner the S. S. Brasil. This King's Point skipper, who is 39 years old, is now responsible for the efficient operation of a vessel valued at 16 1/2 million dollars and the lives and safety of 1,000 passengers and crew members. Capt. Reid is the son of Mrs. C. G. Reid of Washington, Va.
