For those of us who drive the highways, and especially the roads which pass by the schools, we too have need to be reminded that we need a new discipline also. We need to begin driving more defensive* ly, more sensitively, more responsibly. We too have become lax during the summer. Our greatest assets, our children are now daily exposed to greater accident possibilities. A Unless we take stock of our own driving habits, we personally can, before we know it, become part of the prob-. lem, instead of being part of the solution. I propose, that to get us drivers conditioned to drive responsibly, now that our "young life” is again more vulnerable to our 'attack’ with the car, we undertake for the month -of September a personal discipline. Let each of us become aware where our schools are... Let each of .us, as we approach the school, respond in our driving as though pur own child, or loved one is there... Then let each of us sec the driving pattern which we would like all citizens to follow, if our loved-one is to be protected from injury with the automobile. You and I can help make the automobile a
