A funeral service was held Monday, October 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Beech Spring Regular Baptist Church near Sperryville, with burial in Sperryville Cemetery. Elder Kerby Shank, pastor of church officia ted with Geest Funeral Service in charge. The pallbearers were Thomas Baldwin, Ashby Pullen, James Leake, Randolph Clater, Wilson Burke, and Alvirr Atkins.

A funeral service was helc Sunday at Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper for Mrs. Irna Thornhill Nethers of Hood, widow of George A. Nethers, who died October 28, 1966, at University of Virginia Hospital. She was 75. Mrs. Nethers was postmaster at Slate Mills for several years, before the Slate Mills office was combined with Boston. Services were conducted by the Rev. Dott Bryan and the Rev. p. H. Coffey with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper. Active pallbearers
