Saturday, Nov. 12th - Annual Home Demonstration Achieve^ mer.t Day to be held from 2:30 -5 p.m. at the Flint Hill Fire Hall. The topic for the H.D. Clubs for the November meetings is *Time Savers for the Working Homemaker". If you are one of the many working homemakers in the county, this might be of interest to you. Even though you may not be a member of a particular club you are welcome to attend. Plans are in the making for the Homemakers' Achievement day to’be held on November 12 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. This Will be a real good opportunity for you to see some of what- the clubs have been doing during the past year and will afford a good time for fellowship. A very interesting program has been planned so make plans to come out for the afternoon. Clip and Try -- I have found a new recipe that has proven to be reai tasty and which I have been requested to make available for all. This is a recipe for making Pineapple Nut Bread and would be a delicious dessert when something not too sweet is needed to top off a delicious meal. Pineapple Nut Bread 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 3 Tablespoons butter softened 2 cups sifted flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon soda 1 can (8 1/2 oz) crushed pineapple and juice 1 cup chopped nuts 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoons cinnamon 1. Set oven at 350 degrees and grease loaf pan . . . 9x5x3s 2. Cream until fluffy brown sugar, eggs and softened butter.
3. Measure flour, sift and measure together with other dry ingredients . . . salt, soda and baking powder. Add half to the creamed mixture. Mix well. 4. Add all of one small can of crushed pineapple, including the juice and add remaining flour and mix well, scraping sides of bowl often. Stir in chopped nuts.
