NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries at a meeting held in Richmond, Virginia, on May 5, 1967, adopted the following regulations pursuant to Sections 29-12,5, 29-126 and 29-127 of the Code of Virginia.
CHAPTER 2. (Game) In General R2-11. The use of body-gripping ten-inch-by-ten-inch traps shall be prohibited except for use in trapping beaver or otter and such traps shall be set only when covered by w'ater.
CHAPTER 3. Bear. R3-1. Except as provided by local legislation, it shall be lawful to hunt bear from the third Monday in November through January 5, both dates inclusive, in the counties east of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
R3-8. It shall be unlawful to use dogs for the hunting of bear during the open season for hunting deer in the counties west of the Blue Ridge Mountains and in the counties of Amherst (west of U.S. Route 29), Bedford, Campbell (west of Southern Railroad), Nelson (west of Route 151 ) and PitUylvania (west of Southern Railroad) and within the boundaries of the National forests.
CHAPTER 4. Beaver R4-1. Except as otherwise specifically provided by the regulations appearing in this chapter, it shall be lawful to trap beaver from January 1 through February 15, both dates inclusive.
