Cash Taken From Washington Post Office
Approximately $45 were taken from the Washington, Va Post Office shortly after noon Saturday. An office employee had left the customer window open when leaving the building. Apparently someone lean ed through the window, opened the cash drawer directly under it and scooped up the bills and change. Post Office inspec tors, assisted by Sheriff C. K. I stes, are investigating.

Raymond Johnson, County Forest Warden, reports that the laurel is in bloom in the mountains and with continued moderate temperatures it should provide gorgeous scenery for a hike up Red Oak Mountain Sunday. Anyone Interested in a hike is invited to meet at the Sperryville School grounds at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26. Wear comfortable walking shoes. 'I'hls is not a strenuous trail and if nature repeats last year’s performance with its elaborate display of bloom, it will be worth every step. loin the group with Mr. Johnson as guide.
