Plans were announced today by Dr. L. A. Dickerson, Health Director for Kappa h a n n o c k County, concerning a ‘Wipe Out Measles Sunday” which ■ is scheduled for Sunday, May 20, 1968 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Kappa hannock County High School, Washington, Va. All children from the ages 1-12 can be immunized against old fashioned red measles, free of charge, when accompanied by a parent or when possessing a written request. The measles vaccine is safe and effective giving life-long protection against thisdisease Dr. Dickerson said that every infant should be vaccinated with measles vaccine by the time he is a year old. All children who have not had the disease or who have not had the vaccine, should take this opportunity to receive the protection free. Of all common diseases, red measles is often the most miserable a child experiences. There are often complications oi side effects from the disease.
