Mrs. James W. Coates of Sperryville has been named to serve as the member of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors from Piedmont District. She will fill the seat left vacant with the death of E. M. Estes who had been a member of the Board for 16 years.
Mrs. Coates took the oath of office Monday. She was appointed to nil the 3-year unexpired term by Judge R. V. Snead after petitions were presented him by voters of Piedmont District requesting her appointment.
