Our city friends trooped to the country and county by the hundreds to enjoy the crisp autumn atmosphere and colorful foliage display. With bumper to bumper traffic Sunday, there was aftly one slight fender-bender reported by Trooper W. A. Buntin. On Saturday Trooper «fcB. Willis also reported a slight collision. -At one time Sunday traffic was backed up from Sperryville all the way to Panorama, but the situation between Amissville and Warrenton did not appear as bad aS usual. However, we’re glad to share the beauty of the Blue Ridge with everyone, and hope our friends enjoyed the house ttfur and other activities in the cdunty during the weekend.
i^lhe finale of the four-day county fire school was Friday night in the form of a dinner meeting and presentation of certificates. Saw Phil Irwin of Flint Hill enjoying the turkey and timmins and later receive his card. Told Phil that I didn’t know he wjis such an avid fire fighter. His reply was, “Well I had to go forward in the class because prior to; attending school, all I knew was that you are supposed to pull off the road when you see or hear «-fire engine.”
