Mrs. Coates is the former Betty Snead, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John P. Snead of Sperryville. Mr. and Mrs. Coates have recently moved to their new home in Sperryville with their two daughers Cassandra and Susan.
Wins Scholarship
According to The Richmond Collegian, a University of Richmond publication, John O’Bannon, senior pre-med student, has won the Phi Delta Theta scholarship. This scholarship goes to a worthy Phi Delt in his senior year of study, who has performed outstanding service to his fraternity and college with high academic standings.
O’Bannon graduated from Hargrave Military Academy second in his class. He has been and is now a dean’s list student plus he received intermediate honors in his sophomore year.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Maurice O’Bannon of Woodvillc.
