Library Lines
As evenings get longer and out-of-doors activities diminish, the time of the year has come when one finds more leisure to catch up with reading. The number of new books being published almost daily is bewildering, and your library is making every effort to offer to you books that may be expected to be of real interest. We have from time to time in this column called attention to current acquisitions. Among the most recent purchases are: “The Heritage” by Frances Parkinson Keyes. “Testimony of Two Men” by Taylor Caldwell.
“The Eighth Day” by Thornton Wilder, also some mystery novels which have become best sellers:
“Vanished” by Fletcher Knebel.
“The President’s Plane is Missing” by Robert Serling. I “A Small Town in Germany” by John LeCarre, the author of “The Spy who Came in from the Cold”.
We are constantly endeavoring to improve the quality of our library by eliminating books which proved to be of little interest and replacing them with works of acknowledged literary merit, such as
“Collected Short Stories" by Henry James.
“Studs Lonigan”, a trilogy, by James Farrett and others.
Our section of children’s books is being constantly expanded, and even the youngest readers would be stimulated by visiting our library. 'Hie library will be open during the winter months:
Wednesdays, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
