Rappahannock Panthers suddenly
are finding- wins hard to
come by. Friday night the
Panthers were trimmed by the
Strasburg Rams 58-55 and were
stoned Tuesday at Broadway
79-63. The one bright spot in
the Panther’s week was the fact
that senior forward Bobby Settle
took over the scoring lead in
District 10. Settle, going into
Tuesday nightVaffair led Montevideo's
Terry Taylor by one
point, 226 to 225, and currently
holds a 20.5 average.
Settle, with 21 points, led the
Rappahannock attack against
Strasburg in a losing cause as the Rams came from a 31-23
half-time deficit to top the Panthers
58-55. Gary Gleaton sank two foul shots to tie the score at 53-53 and after the Panthers
pulled ahead 55-53, the Rams
reeled off five straight points
to ice the victory. Edgar Ausberry
tallied 18 for the Rams.
Charlie Dodson got back into
his old form, chipping in with
19 points. Roy Reeve had 11.
Tuesday night the Panthers
were beaten by Broadway for the second time this season 7963.
Reeve was the big gun for
Rappahannock, collecting 29
points and playing the best
games of his career. Dodson added 14 while Settle was held
to only eight.
