Illegal Deer Costly to

Greene Co. Men

Illegal possession of a dead deer in Shenandoah National Park has proven costly for thrive Greene County men, according to information received from the office of Superintendent It. Taylor Hoskins.

S u pe rintcndent Hoskins reported that the trio, James, Mannis, and Flbert Morris, were apprehended in the Park on November .10 with the deer in the trunk of their vehicle. They were charged under the United States Code with illegal possession of the deer, possession of loaded firearms in a National Park, and the operator of the car was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid operator’s license.

The men appeared before United State's Commissioner Guy <) Farley in Staunton on January IK, and, on being fecund guilty, were1 assessed a total of $b0() in fines and their firearms and the vehicle were confiscated, according to Mr. Hoskins’ report
