chosen field. The club also moved to join a cooperative proposal by the Ruritan Zone Governor. This plan offers a sizeable award to winners in an essay contest on the subject “Why 1 Obey Law and Order”. This contest will be conducted in Rappahannock, Culpeper and Orange high schools with a winner chosen from each school and a final winner selected from the three finalists. Looking forward to April, the young folks can anticipate the excitement of an Easter Egg Hunt to be held April 6.

Three senior girls at Rappahannock County High School have been elected to the Society of Outstanding American High School Students. They are Beth O’Bannon, daughter of Mr and Mrs. J. M. O’Bannon of Woodville, Janet Hackley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Hackley of Amissville and Carte' Moffett, whose parents are Judg< and Mrs. V,'. F. Moffett, Jr. oi Washington.
According to the notic< received by parents of the seniors, “The purpose of the society is to honor graduating seniors who have the highest scholastic standings and have displayed leadership in extra-curricular and civic activities....with this honor your daughter becomes eligible to compete for a $1,000 scholarship to be presented by the society....your daughter will be honored in a book entitled “Outstanding American High School Students” which will include a biographical listing of her high school accomplishments and honors.
