would probably be at least $5.00. When dates were set for complaints to be heard I made no complaint for I realized the tax rate must be high to do some “catching up” in our county’s educational system. I feel sure there are others who made no complaint for a similar reason.
For the betterment of the county’s future we must be willing to make sacrifices, if necessary, and accept a higher rate of taxation to increase the salary of our teachers. We can no longer get “gold bricks for pennies”.
TTie issue of the teacher salary scale will be discussed this Friday, March 7 at the meeting of the Board of Supervisors. In the meantime let each of us ask ourselves can we afford not to give our children the best?
