Garden Club Holds Luncheon Dec. 16
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will meet for a Christmas Luncheon, Wednesday, December 16 at 1 p.m. at the heme, of Mrs. J. H. Waddell, Boston, Va. The hostesses for this meeting will be Mrs. Waddell, Mrs. J. L. Yowell and Mrs. C. R. Hite. Each member is requested to bring a Christmas gift to be exchanged. The wrappings will be judged.
Members planning to attend should notify Mrs. Waddell at 825-2606 as soon as possible. The cost of the luncheon will be about $2.00.
Service Personnel Names Addresses
The Rappahannock News will be happy to publish names and addresses of servicemen who will not be home for Christmas to enable friends to greet them with cards. Families are requested to furnish this office with the above information as soon as possible.
County Library Book Fair Successful
The Rappahannock Library with its warm and gracious atmosphere was the scene last week of a Book Sale which turned out to be highly successful, both moneywise and otherwise. Those selling and those buying enjoyed the exchange and have expressed their satisfaction with the project. New friends were made for the library and old friendships renewed. And added to that will be the joy for the readers of the purchased books. All those connected with this year’s pre-Christmas Book Sale are to be congratulated for a job well done.
