Fee Shooting in

White Oak Area

The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries voted to try fee hunting on its White Oak Mountain Area in Pittsylvania on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays instead of the originally proposed Wednesday and Saturday shooting, reports Executive Director Chester F. Phelps. Commissioner J. C. Aaron, from that area, said he thought there was sufficient local interest in the experiment to necessitate the extra day. The 800 acre section of the 2,715 acre Wildlife Management Area, designated for this special type of shooting, will be open to regular hunting on other days.

Fee shooting on the area will begin on November 16. Participating hunters will pay a daily fee of $10.00 for which an equivalent number of birds will be stocked, depending on the market price of the bobwhite to
