Mr. Bruce made a request to [ the Board for an increase in his > salary, saying with according | increases in the cost of living, he . had never been advanced likewise. Quoting figures of salaries in adjoining counties for similar services, his was at an all-time low. Mr. Bruce stated that he had from five to thirteen dogs in the kennels most of the time, and they must be kept for at least five days before disposal can be made, i He said from December 1, 1969 i until November 30, 1970 he had ; handled 174 dogs and made I untold calls which netted < nothing for they can be elusive 1 creatures. i
After detailed discussion, the motion was made to increase his to $2,400 per year. Most Board members felt that Mr. Bruce understands dogs and handles them well. He also is familiar with the county and can work this job well with his other employment. All members were in agreement
