A'ville Homemakers
Hold Annual Party
Four members of the Amissville Homemakers Club were cited for perfect attendance the past year when the group held its annual Christmas party last week. Mrs. George Lawrence, Mrs. S. W. Riley, Mrs. Mason Hitt and Mrs. F. L. Bowey had not missed a meeting during the 1969-70 year.
Also noted was the fact that since 1963 Mrs. Riley had missed only two meetings, both times from a case of flu and Mrs. Hitt had missed only four meetings in that length of time.
An installation ceremony for new officers elected was held and Mrs. F. L. Bowey. County Chairman, presided at the installation. Mrs. H. R. Terhune presented devotions and a Christmas poem. Gifts were exchanged and Misses Kay and Leigh Lawrence entertained with musical selections. A sumptuous meal, covered dishes provided by members, was enjoyed and Home Agent Miss Judy Burtner was given a special gift of appreciation for the excellent leadership which she has provided.
