Library Lines JULY 4 CELEBRATION No need to take a trip to attend a 4th of July celebration! Plans are well underway for holiday activites to be held at the Rappahannock Library. The type of celebration held last year seems to generate the most enthusiasm among the county residents. This year’s will be bigger and better, , and a number of county organizations will participate. So j plan now to celebrate the 4th right , here at home. Watch for further details in this column and in new r items elsewhere in the NEWS. : New Paperback Check-out System ’ To allow the librarians to concentrate on other duties, a “do^ it-yourself” check-out system ! such as is used in other small ; libraries is being set up. Most of the paperbacks received from now on will be placed in boxes without | check-out cards or date-due slips in their backs. As a borrower “ selects a book, he or she will write on a simple listing-form the title, ' author’s name, name of borrower, 1 and date borrowed. The books will not need to be checked out or in by > the librarians, but will be due for 1 return in the normal two weeks. ! LIBRARY HOURS: Wednesday 1 and Friday, 1 to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a..m. to 2 p.m. ; Prize Winners Named At Benefit Dinner The benefit dinner sponsored ' Saturday by the Amissville Fire ! Company and Rescue Squad was ' declared extremely successful, : according to Paul A. Poling, 1 president of the fire company. The portable color television which ! was given away went to E. W. !
