OBITUARIES

Miss Lizzie O’Bannon

A graveside funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Woodville Cemetery for Miss Lizzie Clare O’Bannon, 75, of Woodville, conducted by the Rev. B. G. Titchenell.

Miss O’Bannon died May 24, 1971 at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Albert and Lila Hull O’Bannon.

There are no immediate survivors.

Mrs. Doris K. Turner

Mrs. Doris Kines Turner, 40, of The Plains died in Winchester Memorial Hospital May 20, 1971. She was a native of Amissville, a daughter of the late Carlton T. Kines Jr. and Arbelia Rowzie Kines. Mrs. Turner was a member of Marshall United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Berkley W. Turner; two sons, Carlton Wayne Turner and Tilden Lee Turner, at home; a brother, Carlton T. Kines III of Stephenson and a sister, Mrs. Norma K. Darr of Front Royal. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Turner Funeral Home, Front Royal conducted by the Rev. Warren Landis and the Rev. Lynwood Daniel. ‘’Interment was in Amissville United Church Cemetery.

mentrout in Shawneee Springs Nursing Home, Winchester Friday. Enroute home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Schomaker in Front Royal. Tutt Hume is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Frgnklin Butler in Culpeper. Harvey C. Harris of Auburndale, Fla. is visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson. Tuesday they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Wise of Harrisonburg for lunch at Tyson’s Corner. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Butler and family of McLean were weekend guests of Mrs. Amos Butler. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Southworth of Doswell and Mr. and Mrs. Collier Fox of Luray were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Clark and Misty Hitt. The Rev. Roy Mathena of Chester Gap will hold services at Woodville Baptist Church on Sunday, May 30.

Hostess Thursday

Mrs. L. J. Turner was hostess Thursday evening to the Washington Bridge Club at her home on Mt. Salem Avenue. Her guests included Mrs. R. V. Snead, Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. W. F. Moffett Jr., Mrs. Harold Scoggin, Mrs. G. W. Smith jr., Mrs. Harry Lee Smith, Mrs. F. W. Spalding, Mrs, E. M. Jones, Mrs. Elmo D. Flynt, Mrs. B. M. Miller and Mrs. Henry M. Keyser. Prizes were won by Mrs. Scoggin, Mrs. Lea, Mrs. Snead and Mrs. Keyser. Mrs. Moffet was given a wedding anniversary gift by her hostess.
