Mrs. John Frizzell of Annandale and Eric Adamson of Charlottesville were the winners in the annual Labor Day tennis tournament in Rappahannock. Competition began Sunday with teams playing on the courts at Judge and Mrs. R. V. Snead’s Fairlea Farm, Washington where finalists were those named above; at Piedmont Farm in Sperryville, home of Mrs. N.K.G. Tholand and at Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Parrishes home, Thornton River Farm, Viewtown. Pewter whistle cups are awarded the winners, hence the tournament is called the annual Labor Day mixed doubles handicap Whistle Cup Tennis Tournament.
