RLEP Meeting

The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, the County’s new conservation organization will hold its first annual General Membership meeting tomorrow evening, September 10 at 8 p.m. at the Courthouse, Washington, Va. Everyone is invited to attend.
Land use policies, Shenandoah Park Wilderness proposal, Salem Church Dam, and the Potomac Edison transmission line project are four major topics to be addressed by special guest speakers. Questions and discussion will be followed by election of officers and a short business session for members.
Rappk Arts Group
Meets September 14
The Rappahannock Arts and Crafts Group will meet Tuesday, September 14, at 10 a.m. at CabInn in Sperryville. Mrs. Helen Kilby will give a demonstration on Copper Enameling. Mrs. Kilby attended the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts this summer at Gatlinburg, Tenn. She will share some of her knowledge with the group at this meeting. A source for lamp shade material has been located so those interested may put in orders. Plans will be made for the Crafts Show and Sale to be held in Washington, Va. on October 16 and 17, at the time of the Bromfield Parish House Tour and Dried Flower Arrangement Sale.
