Rep. J. Kenneth Robinsonsaidin Charlottesville, Tuesday, that “i he plight of retired persons, and others on fixed incomes, merits particular concern in the planning of economic policies to be followed after expiration of the present wage price feeze.”
“While I have no private information as the plans of the President, I am confident that he is not unmindful of the especially severe impact of inflation on citizens who, in an ‘unfrozen’ economy, are trapped between relatively static income and a rising cost of living — and, because of age or state of health, have little prospect of improving their condition through their own efforts,” he said.
