Assistance Program is available through the Rappahannock County ASCS Office. The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service administers REAP through County ASC Committees elected by farmers and ranchers in the county. Each REAP practice approved by the ASC County Committee must have related soil and water benefits. The leaflet, “Rebuilding a Quality Environment Through Rural Environmental Assistance Program” explains some of the environmental problems encountered on farms and ranches, the way REAP helps in these problems, and how programs in each State and county are developed, administered, and funded.

Many farmers will find this leaflet will add to their knowledge of REAP. For non-farmers, it provides an introduction to an environmental program at work in their own community and a better understanding of how agriculture can contribute to the total environmental effort.
