Washington Fire Department has purchased a water tank truck to be able to more adequately handle country fires. They have also purchased running gear for the firemen. The 1956 water truck carries 1200 gallons and will be a backup unit for the present equipment. The running gear consists of Yellow coats and helmets and boots for six men, plus two sets of breathing apparatus. The running gear was all provided with proceeds from bake and rummage sales sponsored by women of the Fire Co. which grossed over a thousand dollars this fall.
