Tax Deadline Set

The deadline for paying personal property and real estate taxes in Rappahannock County is December 5, 1971. Since this date falls on Sunday, the deadline will be Monday the 6th. After that date a 5% penalty will be added to delinquent accounts.
Tax statements were mailed to Rappahannock residents in October. Some have been returned due to incorrect addresses. It is the responsibility of the taxpayer to keep the treasurer informed, said Robert L. Brown, Treasurer of Rappahannock, and if you have not received your tax statement by this time, call him at his office in Washington, Va. A duplicate statement will be mailed. The Treasurer is in his office each day and will be there Saturdays from 8 until 11 a.m.
