Various sections of the Thornton produced species of smallmouth bass, hog suckers, river chub, small mad toms, cutlip minnows, fall fish, white suckers, shiners. At least 14 varieties were discovered, and most identified. As the group wended its way downstream a greater variety was apparent and it was evident that the trout stocked in the upper reaches of the Thornton earlier in the year, had not drifted downstream. This was a, question for which they had sought an answer.
Data gathered and scale samples taken will be assembled and studied in detail. From the scales, examined under microscopes, the age of the fish can be determined, as well as the rate of growth. The
