VIRGINIANS, especially Rappahannockans, are known for preserving fine old traditions. The Country Store, certainly one of the finest and oldest traditions of all, is still with us, and never will be more with us than at the July 4 Super Flea Market. Yes, right on the comer of Gay and Calvert Streets, on Mrs. Mattie Ball Fletcher’s lot the Country Store will emerge. It will include a Kitchen Shop, managed by Mrs. Helen Fairfax; a Garden Shop, operated by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Summers; and as befits a good country store, Mr. Fletcher and Mrs. Arthur Miller will have an assortment of canned goods unimaginably varied and delicious, because they will be contributed by the good housewives and outstanding cooks of Rappahannock.
